Aberfoyle Changing Places Toilet

In May, two Panel members, and Councillor McGarvey, visited the newly opened Changing Places Toilet ( CPT ) in Aberfoyle. More CPT’s are urgently needed across Scotland to allow the access and inclusion that we all take for granted, to those with complex needs. This special new toilet located in the Trossachs will allow more families to enjoy, perhaps for the first time, the beauty and activities which this area of Stirlingshire offers.

We were delighted to work for over a year with the senior council architect on this important project. This is the 2nd CPT which has been developed jointly by the council and SAAP - the first one being at the Peak - and we are pleased to say that its layout offers best practice and that should make using this facility easy and comfortable for many visitors with disabilities and their families or carers.

We look forward to seeing further CPT’s being constructed in Stirlingshire, and we do hope that one will be located centrally in Stirling city soon, to the benefit of tourists and residents.
